American Rare Earths (ASX:ARR) has been selected to provide feedstock to the US Department of Energy (DOE) Minerals to Materials Supply Chain Research Facility (METALLIC) consortium which is establishing new, domestic critical minerals and materials (CMM) supply chains.
In December 2025, American Rare Earths provided METALLIC with approximately five tonnes of allanite ore from its Cowboy State mine test pit, part of the Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project in Wyoming.
The consortium is combining the research resources of nine US labs on domestic CMM technologies for commercialisation.
The Cowboy State Mine is providing key feedstock for the program, with METALLIC employing ARR’s mineral processing methods in the research process.
ARR benefits from third-party affirmation of the company’s processing flowsheets, with testing potentially leading to more efficient and cost-effective methods for capturing and refining magnetic rare earth elements.
Chief Executive Officer Mark Wall says that the company is excited to be able to support a Department of Energy program.
“American Rare Earths benefits by having leading DOE scientists processing our ore as a part of the drive to domestic rare earth supply chain security within the United States,” Wall says.
American Rare Earths is a critical minerals company focused on advancing the Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming through its wholly owned subsidiary, Wyoming Rare (USA).
