DeSoto Resources Dadjan Gold Project

DeSoto extends gold zone at Dadjan

DeSoto Resources (ASX:DES) has extended a previously identified gold-in-soil anomaly to 3.6km after undertaking rock chip and dump sampling at the Dadjan Gold Project in the Siguiri Basin, Guinea.

The results from 31 rock chips and 287 dump samples include 2.51 grams per tonne gold and 943 parts per billion gold.

With the program continuing, the company has so far collected 944 samples across gold-anomalous areas in the Main Zone and Grand Plateau prospects.

Power auger drilling is now underway at Dadjan to sample the regolith for future aircore and reverse circulation drilling programs.

Meanwhile, DeSoto is continuing sampling southward at the Timbakouna Gold Project while awaiting approval to commence power auger drilling. Current results from 47 rock chips and 79 dump samples range from 1.06g/t to 8.47g/t gold.

DeSoto says gold mineralisation appears similar to that at Dadjan. A total of 404 samples have been collected in three different zones between 2,800m and 1,500m in length and 100m to 200m in width.

Managing Director Chris Shallow says DeSoto is continuing to work methodically from its ground position.

“It speaks to the strongly mineralised nature of the Singuiri Basin, that the company, from a standing start and in less than a month, has been able to uncover a 3.6km-long target, which remains open to the north and with results pending,” he says.

DeSoto Resources recently acquired 1,234km2 of ground across Guinea’s Singuiri Basin and the Gaoual Gold Belt, expanding its portfolio to 17 gold projects.
