The S&P/ASX200 closed lower Friday 23 June, dropping 96.3 points (1.34%) to 7,099.2 and crossing below its 200-day moving average, while the broader All Ordinaries retreated 95.4 points (1.29%) to 7285.6.
This S&P/ASX200 index has lost 2.10% for the past 5 business days but is virtually unchanged over the last year-to-date.
The share market closed in the red after the central banks of England and Norway increased interest rates higher than expected as both countries attempt to rein in inflation.
One standout performer was Delta Lithium (ASX:DLI), which surged 30.136% to record high of $0.95 after the explorer reported it struck its highest tenor intercept to date at its Yinnetharra lithium project in WA’s Gascoyne region.
Gold Road Resources (ASX:GOR) was one of the bottom performing stocks in this index, down 5.312% to $1.515.
Mining majors BHP (ASX:BHP) finished down 1.152% to $44.60, while Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) was 1.1% down to $113.13, and Fortescue Metals (ASX:FMG) dipped 0.557% to $21.41.
