Daly Resources (ASX:DLY) is set to commence an airborne electromagnetic survey at its Broughton copper-zinc project in Q3 2026.
The company has been awarded $150,000 under Round 19 of the Northern Territory Government’s Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations Program to support the regional versatile time-domain electromagnetic (VTEM) survey across priority areas within exploration licences EL32992 and EL32993.
The survey will cover more than 2,000 line kilometres at 400m line spacing across two priority survey blocks within the northern McArthur Basin project, located approximately 600km southeast of Darwin.
Daly says the survey will provide its first modern airborne electromagnetic dataset over priority target corridors at Broughton to test its sediment-hosted copper-zinc exploration model.
“This co-funding will support a key step in advancing the Broughton Cu-Zn Project, allowing Daly to acquire a modern airborne electromagnetic dataset across priority target corridors in the northern McArthur Basin,” Executive Chairman Mike Edwards says.
The company is targeting sediment-hosted copper-zinc mineralisation in the northern McArthur Basin, using a hybrid petroleum-minerals systems approach informed by deposits such as Century in Queensland.
Historical exploration has defined multiple base metal prospects and broad copper-zinc surface geochemical anomalies across the project area. The company believes these features may represent leakage from a concealed mineral system and has prioritised areas where surface anomalies coincide with favourable stratigraphy and interpreted structural corridors for follow-up exploration.
Results from the VTEM survey will be integrated with existing geological and geochemical datasets to refine targets for future drilling.
Daly holds a portfolio of exploration projects covering more than 6,500km² of granted tenure across the Northern Territory, including the Huckitta Fluorite-Copper Project and the Batten Zinc-Copper Project within the McArthur Basin.
