Cummins marks an entire century in mining

Cummins (NYSE:CMI) has kicked off a global celebration, including recognising employee partnerships and innovations, marking 100 years in the mining industry.

Over the past century, Cummins has introduced new technologies, from early diesel adoption and fuel system breakthroughs to turbocharging, electronically controlled engines, and digitally connected solutions designed to maximise uptime and reduce total cost of ownership.

The company says the anniversary is also a look ahead to what it calls a cleaner, smarter, and more connected future for mining.

Asia-Pacific Director Ben Clark says reaching 100 years is a milestone and a testament to the company’s partnership with customers around the world.

“For a century, we’ve focused on solving real challenges for miners and delivering power solutions that improve reliability and productivity while reducing total cost of ownership in demanding conditions,” Clark says.

“The future of mining is about more than power. It’s about smarter, more sustainable performance.

“We’re working alongside our customers to deliver practical solutions that support decarbonisation without compromising productivity. That’s the challenge, and that’s where Cummins thrives.”

Established in 1919, Cummins is a global mining services provider focused on delivering products and services that move people, goods, and economies forward. The company is headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, and employs about 67,400 people worldwide.
