Culpeo Minerals reports visible copper sulphides over 400m at Lana Corina

Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO) reports that it has intersected visible copper sulphides during maiden drilling at its Lana Corina Copper Project in Chile.

The results, generated from the second hole of a nine-hole diamond drilling campaign, intersected ‘significant’ visible mineralisation that appears to be continuous downhole for approximately 400m.

Addressing the results, Culpeo Minerals Managing Director Max Tuesley said: “Culpeo’s maiden drilling program at Lana Corina is planned to test the continuity of mineralisation at depth and to verify historic assay results.

“visual results are extremely encouraging, with both drillholes intersecting significant copper sulphide mineralisation”

We are now two holes into the nine-hole program and visual results are extremely encouraging, with both drillholes intersecting significant copper sulphide mineralisation in the form of chalcopyrite over continuous downhole intervals up to 400m. Culpeo looks forward to reporting assay results for this ongoing drilling program.”

The company also reports that sampling of the program’s first drill hole has now been completed, with finalised results expected within the next 3 weeks.

The ‘high-grade’ copper mineralisation is reported to be associated with three known copper-bearing breccia pipes that outcrop at surface and extend to a vertical depth of 200m, however, vein style mineralisation extends deeper.

The Lana Corina Copper Project is located approximately 2km south of the township of Soruco within the Coquimbo region of Chile. Culpeo has acquired 80% of the tenements associated with the project.

The project is associated with a northeast-southwest orientated structural zone measuring over 1,000m of strike and up to 400m in width.

With the current maiden diamond drill program ongoing, Culpeo has announced that it will move forward with a ground-based magnetic survey covering 3.8km² commencing this week.
