Critica (ASX:CRI) CEO Jacob Deysel says the company is focused on systematically advancing both its Jupiter and Mt Lindsay projects to deliver Scoping Studies for both in Q3 2026.
The company has progressed numerous workstreams at its Jupiter Rare Earths Project in Yalgoo, Western Australia, as well as its Mt Lindsay Tin-Tungsten Project in northwest Tasmania over the past year to meet this goal.
At Jupiter, Critica has completed resource optimisation work, with an updated resource estimate process expected to begin shortly, supported by 145 drillholes and managed by SRK Consulting.
Beneficiation has delivered an upgrade of up to 14 times and returned around 81% magnet rare earth oxide recovery, with the results to be incorporated into the upcoming Scoping Study.
The company has also produced commercial-grade products, including approximately 58% total rare earth oxide (TREO) mixed rare earth carbonate and 97% TREO mixed rare earth oxide.
Critica also achieved 63% gallium extraction at Jupiter using its existing hydrometallurgical flowsheet. A downstream product pathway assessment is under way.
The company is currently preparing product qualification samples to support offtake and downstream engagement for the project.
“At Jupiter, we have completed significant resource optimisation work, delivered strong beneficiation results, produced both commercial-grade mixed rare earth carbonate and mixed rare earth oxide products and commenced product qualification activities,” CEO Deysel says.
“These outcomes continue to de-risk the project and strengthen the technical foundation of the Scoping Study.”
Scaling Mt Lindsay
Over at the Mt Lindsay Project, Critica is working towards the completion of a resource update with updated modelling in progress to assess the extraction of critical metals.
DRA Global (ASX:DRA) is advancing study workstreams for the Mt Lindsay Underground Mining Scoping Study, which is expected to be completed in Q3 2026.
Critica is currently assessing an underground mining strategy with a low environmental footprint and is also progressing partnership and offtake discussions.
“At Mt Lindsay, strengthening tin and tungsten market fundamentals have reinforced the strategic value of the project,” Deysel adds.
“Resource update activities, sample preparation, and Scoping Study workstreams are now underway as we reassess one of Australia’s largest undeveloped tin-tungsten projects through a low environmental-footprint underground mining development with improved environmental outcomes and enhanced project economics.
“We have also continued to strengthen our strategic position through government-backed research funding, technical partnerships, and participation in defence-aligned critical minerals initiatives.”
In May 2026, Critica received $300,000 in funding from the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia and the Curtin University-led Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer programs to accelerate the company’s understanding of mineral processing at the Jupiter Critical Minerals Project, as reported by Mining.com.au.
Funding will cover the investigation of alternative metallurgical methods such as rare earth element bioleach extraction.
Critica is advancing the Jupiter Project in Western Australia with a focus on a mine-to-magnet strategy aimed at meeting growing demand.
