Corazon clears path for Feather Cap drilling

Corazon Mining (ASX:CZN) plans to commence a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program during Q3 2026 at its Feather Cap Gold Project in Western Australia, following the completion of a heritage survey.

The heritage survey was completed across primary drill target areas, clearing a key regulatory hurdle for drilling at the project. The survey covers the Wembley and Durack East/Jigsaw targets, allowing the company to move directly into finalising its drill program design and securing a contractor.

Managing Director Simon Coyle says completing heritage at Feather Cap is an important step in advancing toward drilling.

“It allows us to move directly into finalising our RC program at Wembley and Durack East/Jigsaw, two targets with genuine historical support and clear analogues in the surrounding Durack and Fortnum gold systems,” Coyle says.

“We’re looking forward to testing both targets as part of our maiden RC program in the September quarter.”

The upcoming drilling program will test shallow, high-grade oxide gold mineralisation at the Wembley prospect, which is located on a granted mining lease.

Historical drilling at Wembley returned intercepts of 7m @ 6.21 grams per tonne gold from 6m, including 2m @ 18.33g/t gold from 8m, and 4m @ 2.3g/t gold from 19m.

At Durack East/Jigsaw, the company will test for the down-strike and down-dip continuation of the 112,000-ounce Durack mineralised system owned by Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR).

Historical intercepts on Corazon ground include 35m @ 1.47g/t gold from 32m, including 5m @ 5.13g/t gold from 32m, alongside 20m @ 3.01g/t gold from 40m.

The Feather Cap Project sits within the Bryah-Padbury Basin, an established gold province that hosts Westgold Resources’ (ASX:WGX) Fortnum gold operations. Westgold holds a 19.90% strategic interest in Corazon following a recent acquisition and placement.

Corazon plans to advance exploration across its broader Feather Cap inventory, including the Trudgeon Well and Murphy’s Creek prospects, alongside its core Chalice Gold Project in the Eastern Goldfields.

Corazon Mining is a mineral exploration and development company with a strategic focus on ‘high-grade’ gold exploration in Western Australia.
