Copper Search

Copper Search foraging for heavy mineral sands

Copper Search (ASX:CUS) has staked two tenements prospective for heavy mineral sands (HMS) at the Eromanga Basin Project in South Australia.

This news comes after Copper Search identified the HMS potential at its existing ground near William Creek, with pan concentrate grab samples consisting of 35% zircon, 20% ilmenite, 20% leucoxene, and 5% rutile.

The company is beginning fieldwork next week to conduct mapping and sampling to prioritise drill targets.

A heritage survey is also planned for the end of August 2025, with the Arabana Traditional Owners preparing for the first drilling program.

The 4,000m aircore program will be carried out at the Nilpinna, Anna Creek, and Eddy targets during Q3 and Q4 2025, subject to approvals.

Managing Director Duncan Chessell says the discovery of this unrecognised potential for HMS is a new and potentially ‘high-impact’ opportunity.

“Building on the previously unrecognised exploration space, our team has quickly deployed machine learning tools, reviewed historical datasets, and added four prospective tenements by staking open ground,” Chessell says.

“Further desktop review and low-cost boots-on-the-ground reconnaissance are highly effective in building a pipeline of prospective targets at the company’s new Eromanga Basin HMS Project.”

The company is continuing work on its copper-gold assets in New South Wales, with a small infill gravity survey being conducted at the Byrock Project. This survey is due for completion shortly to finalise high-priority drill targets.

Further, Copper Search has submitted grant applications for a co-funded drilling program and geophysics work to the New South Wales Government. The outcome is expected to be received in September.

Copper Search is a junior mineral explorer focused on discovering multiple projects and commodities within geological domains containing established profitable mines.
