Conserrat delivers ‘bonanza’ silver grades for E2 Metals

E2 Metals (ASX:E2M) has reported ‘bonanza’ silver grades from the Malvina and Andrea Sur prospects within its Conserrat gold and silver project in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province.

Step-out drilling at Malvina has provided a particularly ‘high grade’ hit including:

  • Hole CODD-253: 14m @ 8.7g/t Au, 2,541g/t Ag (45g/t AuEq) from 67m; including
    • 7m @ 17g/t Au, 4,759g/t Ag (85g/t AuEq) from 67m, and
    • 1m @ 66g/t Au, 19,381g/t Ag (343g/t AuEq) from 72m

Importantly, the hole is positioned 50 vertical metres below hole CODD-188 which had previously returned grades including 4m @ 1g/t Au, 67g/t Ag (2g/t AuEq) from 17m.

Further step out work at Andrea Sur has provided additional encouraging results:

  • Hole CORC-240: 16m @ 2.6g/t Au, 9g/t Ag (2.7g/t AuEq) from 22m inc.
    • 6m @ 5.4g/t Au, 3g/t Ag (5.5g/t AuEq) from 25m
  • HoleCODD-237: 19m @ 1.9g/t Au, 14g/t Ag (2.1g/t AuEq) from 40m inc.
    • 2m @ 11.8g/t Au, 28g/t Ag (12.2g/t AuEq) from 55.6m

The company notes that mineralisation is open down-dip on both sections.

Addressing on the results, E2 Metals Managing Director Todd Williams said: “With up to 20 kilograms silver in individual assays, these results from CODD-253 are the best we’ve seen to date at Conserrat. Malvina is the first precious metal epithermal vein discovered by E2 under shallow basalt cover. High-grade mineralisation like that encountered at Malvina rarely occurs in isolation and one goal of the current 6000m drill program is to discover more mineralised shoots just like this in adjacent structures.”

Conserrat is home to a newly-discovered epithermal vein field that lies 25km along trend from the 8.9Moz Au, 137Moz Ag Cerro Vanguardia mine (AngloGold Ashanti).

The company believes that the ‘bonanza’ silver mineralisation is associated with a a banded colloform-crustiform epithermal vein that has delivered native silver in drill core samples.

The step-out drilling forms part of a broader 6,000m program tasked with expanding regional discoveries and extensions to known mineralisation at Conserrat.

Moving forward, E2 Metals reports that it plans to continue drilling at Malvina, targeting extensions to ‘high grade’ mineralisation which remains open at depth and the the northwest.

This will be accompanied by follow-up drilling at Andrea Sur which will be aimed at gaining a broader understanding on mineralisation, and in particular the untested northeast structures.
