Chalice Mining returns ‘outstanding’ and ‘high-grade’ intersections from drilling at Julimar Ni-Cu-PGE Project

Globally recognised exploration company Chalice Mining (ASX:CHN) reports it has received ‘high-grade’ intersections from diamond drilling (DD) activities at its 100%-owned Julimar Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (Ni-Cu-PGE) Project in Western Australia.

These ‘outstanding’ results of the drilling campaign demonstrate potential for material resource growth at the 30km long Julimar complex following the identification of several broad zones of sulphide mineralisation about 650m beyond the current resource boundaries.

Key results include 93.8m at 1.2g/t 3E, 0.2% Ni, 0.1% Cu, 0.02% Co from 617.2m and 8m at 4.8g/t 3E, 0.2% Ni, 0.1% Cu, 0.01% Co from 853m (JD328).

Drilling exploration is currently ongoing with 2 diamond drill rigs currently working across the 10km long Hartog-Baudin strike length and 4 rigs continuing resource drilling at the project’s Gonneville PGE-Ni-Cu-Co-Au (gold) deposit.

However, drilling at the Hartog prospect is currently limited by drilling access.

The company also notes that different styles of mineralisation could be potentially intersected along the complex and could contribute to ‘significantly’ long-term value-creation that a world-class mineral district can create.

It is also reported that drilling completed to date supports the interpretation of the Gonneville Intrusion as being host to a rare chonolith-like geometry that shares similarities with other major ultramafic-mafic orthomagmatic systems worldwide.

These systems are host to notable Ni-Cu-PGE deposits include Norilsk-Talnakh and Jinchuan

In addition, drilling to date has also confirmed the existence of several north-westerly plunging shoots to the G2, G4 and G11 ‘high-grade’ sulphide zones, which are known to strike to the north-northeast and dip to the west-northwest.

Meanwhile, 3 initial reconnaissance holes have been drilled into the Hartog Intrusion 500m north of the current resource boundary and have successfully intersected Gonneville-style magmatic sulphides, confirming it is a continuation of the prospective Julimar complex to the northwest.

As of 12noon AWST, Chalice Mining’s share price had increased by 6.23%.

Chalice Mining is a globally recognised specialist explorer and developer with a major greenfield PGE-Ni-Cu-Co-Au discovery at its Julimar project in WA. The project covers the 30km long, largely unexplored Julimar Intrusive Complex, with the project’s Gonneville resource covering just 2km of the extensive complex. The project tenement is located about 70km northeast of WA’s capital city of Perth with world-class road, rail, port and high-voltage power infrastructure nearby.

With drilling activities still ongoing across the prospective tenement, Chalice Mining announces it will move forward with further step-out drilling at the Hartog prospect within the coming weeks.
