Centrex (ASX:CXM) expects to set a new record of the upcoming beneficiated phosphate shipment, originally scheduled at 25,000 tonnes, to 30,000 tonnes from the Ardmore Rock Phosphate Mine in Queensland.
The record shipment of 30,000 tonnes, which will surpass the latest record of 26,502 tonnes, is scheduled for loading from 1-5 December 2024.
Centrex, which has a market capitalisation of $21.22 million, says the shipment will be sent to an existing customer, which Centrex says reflects the continued demand for Ardmore’s high-quality beneficiated phosphate among repeat buyers.
As of 25 November, 28,159 tonnes of product is at the Townsville Port.
CEO Robert Mencel says the stockpiling and production ramp-up strategy has enabled larger, more efficient shipments, which in turn are expected to support improvements in operating margins.
“This strategy has allowed us to better meet our customers’ increasing demand for large, reliable and high-quality sources of phosphate concentrate,” Mencel says.
“The team and I look forward to building on this momentum and the improvements made at Ardmore to date.”
During the first weeks of November, Ardmore’s operating performance progressed largely in line with achieving targets that were set for the month.
The Ardmore project is located south of Mt Isa in northwest Queensland and is linked to the Port of Townsville via an existing rail line.
