Cazaly Resources identifies multiple new EM targets at Ashburton Project

Diversified mineral exploration company Cazaly Resources (ASX:CAZ) has discovered multiple electromagnetic (EM) targets following rock chip sampling and initial processing of final EM survey data at its Ashburton Project in Western Australia.

The company says the results, generated by 3 rock chip samples collected from the Cheela Plains prospect, demonstrate anomalous copper mineralisation over 2km of strike, and copper grades up to 32% Cu. It is reported the mineralised copper trend continues to the southeast.

Adding on, Cazaly notes these results, in conjunction with initial processing of final EM survey data, have also identified up to 3 new EM target trends within the project tenure. The company also notes these EM targets are untested, and that no historical surface sampling or drilling has been conducted on them.

In addition, these new targets have been identified in proximity with a northwest trending fault, which is interpreted to be a splay off the Nanjilgardy fault within the broader Nanjilgardy fault zone. It is believed this fault zone has potential to have been an important conduit for the focus on mineralising fluids.

Commenting on the discovery, Cazaly Resources Managing Director Tara French said: “These initial EM targets are extremely encouraging especially with the nearby 2km copper trend containing extremely rich copper rock chips. Once again our exploration results add valuable insights to the mineralisation potential of this very large land package we hold in the Ashburton Basin.

The two remaining EM survey blocks at the Ashburton Project require modelling, and once all the interpretations are complete target ranking will commence in order to prioritise areas for further work.”

Cazaly also reports it has commenced specific modelling of the EM anomalies to determine the size and geometry of any potential conductor targets for further follow-up. Completion of this modelling is expected to be achieved within the coming weeks ahead of the planned 2023 field season.

Cazaly Resources is an ASX-listed, Perth-based exploration and resource development company with a ‘diverse’ portfolio of projects scattered across Western Australia and Namibia. The company’s Ashburton project is situated in Western Australia’s Ashburton Basin, in which the company currently boasts a land position covering more than 2,450km-square.

The project covers ‘major’ regional structures considered to be prospective for large mineralised systems, and is host to the Cheela Plains prospect which is located along the Najilgardy fault zone.

Other assets held by Cazaly Resources include the Yabby Gold and Mount Venn projects in Western Australia, as well as the Kaoko and Abenab North projects in the African nation of Namibia.
