Catalyst and Navarre hit 831g/t gold from single diamond hole at Tandarra

Catalyst Metals (ASX: CYL) and Navarre Minerals (ASX: NML) have reported ‘bonanza’ gold grades of up to 831g/t Au following a single diamond drill hole at the Lawry Prospect within the Tandarra Gold Project in Victoria.

The companies note that these results reinforce the prospectivity of broad-zones of gold mineralisation that were previously returned from aircore drilling along the Reynolds Trend.

Key intercepts from hole TND007 include:

  • 12.9m @ 33.1g/t Au from 66.4m, incl. 0.5m @ 831g/t
  • 1.0m @ 2.5g/t Au from 153.5m
  • 1.0m @ 1.2g.t Au from 173.4m
  • 1.0m @ 1.3g/t Au from 226.6m

Speaking on the result, Catalyst Metals Technical Director Bruce Kay said: “The extremely high-grade gold intersection at shallow depth on the Lawry prospect means that there are now three parallel zones of gold mineralisation with high grades at the Tandarra Gold Project.

“there are now three parallel zones of gold mineralisation with high grades at the Tandarra Gold Project”

This gold distribution is similar to that mined at the historic Bendigo Goldfield which produced 22 million ounces of gold.”

The company also notes that the results justify the commencement of an additional infill drilling program at the project during the next field season.

The Tandarra Gold Project is situated along Victoria’s Whitelaw Gold Corridor, and is operated as a joint venture between Catalyst (51%) and Navarre (49%).

The project boasts a series of potential gold trends including 7km of strike along the Tandarra Fault Zone, located north of the Tomorrow prospect, along with several parallel structures to the east.
