ASX-listed exploration company, Castle Minerals (ASX:CDT) reports a geochemical sampling program has confirmed 5 priority-ranked lithium-in-soil anomalies at its Woodcutters Lithium Project in Western Australia.
The company reports the selected zone is considered to be a ‘favourable’ geological setting for lithium mineralisation, as it is ‘largely’ underlain by Eastern Goldfields Greenstone metasediments, and is close to the contact between these and Archean granites.
Additionally, the lithium anomalism appears to correlate well with a northwest-trending structure that can be traced towards the Bald Hill mine located 25km to the northwest.

A geological crew will be on-site to field assess the priority anomalies and to search for and sample any exposed pegmatites that may be associated with these. They will also assess several other anomalies Castle has identified through the analysis of a multi-element assay dataset generated by a third party that was exploring for gold.”
The sampling program encompassed 937 samples and was designed to cover a 10km northwest trending zone in the northern margin of Castle’s 2 granted licences (EL15/1846 and EL15/1847), which cover an area of 482km-square.
Castle’s Woodcutters project is prospective for spodumene-bearing pegmatites and is located 25km southeast of Alita Resource’s (ASX:A40) Bald Hill lithium mine, and 25km northwest of the Buldania lithium deposit owned by Liontown Resources (ASX:LTR).
