Cassiar Gold (TSX-V:GLDC) has commenced a 10,000m phase one drilling program at its Taurus deposit in British Columbia, Canada.
Taurus hosts indicated mineral resources of 8.8 million tonnes (Mt) at 1.43 grams per tonne gold for 410,000 ounces, plus 63.2Mt at 0.95g/t gold for 1.93 million ounces inferred. The diamond drilling program targets resource expansion and infill drilling at the deposit.
Drilling will target extensions of known mineralisation, stepouts beyond the current resource block model and infill gaps to improve resource confidence.
The deposit hosts approximately 91% of its ounces within 150m of surface and remains open for expansion laterally and at depth.
Cassiar Gold is simultaneously evaluating high-priority targets at Cassiar South, which hosts historical underground mines that yielded over 315,000 ounces of gold at average head grades between 10g/t and 20g/t gold.
“We are excited to launch our fully funded 2026 exploration season at Cassiar Gold, with a robust 10,000-metre drill program underway at the Taurus deposit and active evaluation of high-grade targets at Cassiar South,” CEO Marco Roque says.
The Cassiar gold property spans 590km² across two main project areas in British Columbia.
