Carnaby Resources hits “broad zones” of copper sulphides at Nil Desperandum

Carnaby Resources Limited (ASX: CNB) has reported that it has intersected “broad zones” of copper sulphides from multiple drill holes at the Nil Desperandum prospect within its Greater Duchess Copper Gold Project near Mount Isa, Queensland.

Key results include:

  • DD Hole NLDD024: 21m copper sulphide mineralisation from diamond tail extension in the footwall zone
  • RC Hole NLRC029: “broad and shallow” zones of copper sulphide mineralisation over a 95m downhole interval
  • RC Holes NLRC026, NLRC027, NLRC030: all holes intersected “broad zones” of copper sulphide mineralisation

RC and diamond drilling is ongoing, with samples awaiting laboratory analysis.

Exploration at Nil Desperandum

RC and diamond drilling at Nil Desperandum has continued to encounter large zones of copper-gold mineralisation, in what the company believes is a highly-continuous south-west plunging high grade pipe-like shoot geometry. The mineralisation, which remains open at depth, forms a coherent and subparallel hangingwall and footwall zone.

All samples from the RC / DD program are being prepared before analysis at the ALS laboratory in Mt Isa.

Drilling at Nil Desperandum continues, with mineralised zones continuing to expand.

Greater Duchess Copper-Gold Project

Situated over a 50km corridor, the Greater Duchess Copper-Gold Project is located on a 323 km² land holding with various undeveloped copper-rich iron oxide copper gold and epigenetic gold prospects.

The tenement package comprises the historic Duchess Copper-Gold Mine, which produced roughly 205,000 tonnes of 12.5% Cu between 1900 and 1940, as well as many shallow IOCG resources.

Nil Desperandum, Mount Birnie, Duchess, Big Beauty, Freckle, and several other target areas with shallow historical workings, soil anomalies, and un-drilled outcropping mineralisation are located within Greater Duchess.

“Nil Desperandum is rapidly becoming a very significant copper gold deposit with scale and economic potential”

Management comments

Carnaby Resources Managing Director Rob Watkins said: “Nil Desperandum is rapidly becoming a very significant copper gold deposit with scale and economic potential. We look forward to receiving further results from the ongoing drilling program which has been expanded in line with what we are witnessing.”
