Caprice Resources (ASX:CRS) has returned ‘excellent’ base metals results from a phase two drill program at the Lady Sampson prospect within its Northampton Polymetallic Project in Western Australia.
The results, generated by 11 drillholes for 1,010m, have returned ‘significant’ lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), and silver (Ag) grades and widths and extended a ‘higher-grade’ zone by another 100m to the south, with mineralisation remaining open.
This zone is expected to be a key focus for follow-up drilling, as well as testing depth extents.
Key results include 23NHRC0022 with 7m @ 4.4% Pb, 1.6% Zn, and 3.7g/t Ag from 26m including 2m @ 7.7% Pb, 1% Zn, and 4.6g/t Ag from 28m; and hole 23NHRC0013 with 15m @ 1.5% Pb, 0.2% Zn, and 1g/t silver, including 1m @ 4.6% Pb, 3.1% Zn, and 9.9g/t Ag from 27m.

Phase two drilling was designed to infill and extend results from Caprice’s maiden drilling campaign in the area, with a view to understanding the grade distribution and testing the southern extensions of the ‘higher-grade’ zones.
The company also notes a ‘highly successful’ ultrafine soil sampling trial at Lady Sampson has generated anomalies that ‘strongly’ correlate with an underlying mineralisation trend and is poised to be a key tool for regional exploration, with follow-up soils and drill planning underway.
With results from phase two drilling now received, Caprice Resources announces it will look to extend ultrafine soil sampling along strike and laterally to refine existing drill targets, as well as implement sampling in new locations to test structural and geological targets. It is the company’s goal to restart drilling once rig access is re-established later in the year.
Addressing the results, Caprice Resources Managing Director Andrew Muir says: “We are very excited by the potential of Lady Sampson. The latest program has confirmed the higher grade mineralisation and extended it to the south.
“We are very excited by the potential of Lady Sampson.”
In addition, the recognition that ultrafine soils can identify underlying mineralised bodies is very pleasing and will be a key exploration tool heading forward.”
Meanwhile, Caprice says the next round of mapping and sampling is underway at its Mukinbudin rare earth element (REE) Project, located about 25km northeast of Perth in Western Australia.
Caprice Resources is an ASX-listed company focused on its portfolio of assets with historical ‘high-grades’ and limited modern exploration, including its Island Gold Project in the Cue Goldfield and the Northampton project.
The company’s Northampton project is located near the township of Northampton in Western Australia and represents a polymetallic brownfields project surrounding historical lead-silver and copper mines that were operational between 1850 and 1973.
