Buffalo confirms high-grade potash at Saskatchewan project

Buffalo Potash (TSX-V:BUFF) reports high-grade potash mineralisation from two historical drillholes at its Disley Project in Saskatchewan, including intersections of 6.1m at 41.3% sylvite.

The assay results come from the company’s re-analysis of core samples from two 1960s-era drilling campaigns at the project, which lies adjacent to major potash solution mines operated by K+S and Mosaic.

CEO Steve Halabura says the results strengthen management’s view of Disley’s potential.

“Our team is excited to announce the results for the Imperial 11-11 and Lumsden #3 potash core re-assays, these to be incorporated into our maiden mineral resource estimate and preliminary economic assessment,” Halabura says.

The two drillholes are located in the eastern and western portions of the 9,413-hectare project area, approximately 50km northwest of Regina.

“Buffalo’s regional potash mineralisation model suggests that these historical potash drillholes are consistent with the presence of relatively continuous, unaltered potash-bearing beds across the region,” Halabura says.

The company is conducting a multi-well re-assay program to evaluate potash mineralisation across both legacy holes and its newly drilled confirmation hole. Results are pending from the 2026 Buffalo 7-10 drillhole.

Buffalo has also commissioned a 45km² 3D seismic program over a targeted segment of the project to expand understanding of geological continuity.

The company’s Horizontal Line-Drive Selective Solution Mining Technology focuses on using parallel horizontal wells to create mining planes within high-grade potash seams. Buffalo defines optimal criteria for this method as seams with minimum 1.0m thickness and grades exceeding 30% sylvite.

The Disley Project targets three potash-bearing members of the Prairie Evaporite Formation – the Patience Lake, Belle Plaine, and Esterhazy members.
