Brunswick Exploration targets Québec projects for drilling

Brunswick Exploration (TSX-V:BRW) has begun a new drilling program at the Mirage and Anatacau Main projects located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec, Canada.

A total of 6,000m of drilling will be completed across both assets, with 2,000m planned at Anatacau and 4,000m planned at Mirage.

At Anatacau, drilling aims to extend the known spodumene pegmatite dykes as well as discover new ones. The spodumene dyke field defined to date at the Anais zone extends over 600m long and 450m wide and remains open in all directions.

Meanwhile at Mirage, drilling will initially target the lateral extensions of the MR-1 and MR-4 dykes, which are considered the richest dykes to date.

The MR-1 dyke is in the northern part of the deposit and is defined over 400m in strike length and remains open in all directions. This dyke returned ‘high-grade’ results including 25.8m @ 2.57% lithium oxide.

Upon completion, drilling will move to MR-4 dyke, which is considered the ‘most evolved’ pegmatite on Mirage to date. The dyke is located in the southern part of the project.

Brunswick Exploration notes the drill program will continue to target untested spodumene pegmatite outcrops, particularly north of the Escale Lake. Additional drilling is also planned to test new high-potential targets along the entire 8km-long lithium-bearing corridor identified to date at Mirage, with more than 350 spodumene pegmatite boulders and locations with spodumene in tills so far.

Canada’s important assets

CEO Killian Charles says with an inferred resource of 52.2 million tonnes @ 1.08% lithium oxide, Mirage is already “one of the most important lithium assets in Canada”.

“We see significant potential to rapidly expand both the mineral resource estimate and the associated exploration target,” Charles says.

“Many of the pegmatites drilled to date remain open in all directions and, in addition, several lithium bearing pegmatites have yet to be drill tested.”

Charles adds that the company believes Anatacau could be as “significant” as Mirage.

“The drilling will continue to outline the potential we see at this asset,” the CEO says.

“No other junior company in Canada has such a unique combination of advanced, high-potential assets. We believe the planned summer campaign will cement our position as one of the most exciting lithium exploration companies in Canada.”

The Mirage Project comprises 278 claims with a total surface area of 13,839 hectares located 40km south of the Trans-Taiga Highway in Québec, Canada. The Anatacau Main Project is a hard-rock lithium asset, strategically situated 22km east of the Anatacau West Project and Rio Tinto’s (ASX:RIO) Galaxy Project.
