Brunswick Exploration (TSX-V:BRW) has extended the spodumene-bearing corridor at the Nuuk Lithium project near Nuuk, Greenland, following the confirmation of an additional spodumene-bearing pegmatite over 3km from the original discovery zone, nearly doubling the scale and width of the mineralised system.
This discovery expands the interpreted corridor to approximately 4km by 1km. Brunswick compares that with its Mirage Project, which has a corridor of lithium-bearing pegmatites measuring 6km by 3km.
Brunswick notes that the new lithium-cesium-tantalum pegmatite returned anomalously low potassium-to-rubidium ratios. Although spodumene was not immediately identified in the field, deeper analysis confirmed its presence. The company is awaiting results from an additional target which has the potential to expand the corridor of lithium mineralisation.
The company has identified a total of nine spodumene-bearing pegmatites to date in the Ivisaartoq field, measuring up to 400m long and 40m wide, with up to 50% visual spodumene.
CEO Killian Charles says the project’s growing scale continues to support its exploration potential.
“Next steps, including drilling, are currently being evaluated in conjunction with the return of drilling at Mirage and an anticipated Anatacau fall drilling campaign,” Charles says.
“In addition, our team will embark on a maiden prospecting program on our East Greenland Portfolio starting mid-July.
“As lithium markets and fundamentals gain momentum, we believe that Greenland remains one of the most exciting and underexplored jurisdictions with significant critical mineral endowment globally. With first-mover advantage, Brunswick Exploration is the only company exploring for lithium in the country.”
Brunswick plans to conduct helicopter-supported prospecting and mapping across its East Greenland portfolio from mid-July.
