Johnny Patterson Auna has been appointed CEO of Bougainville Copper (ASX:BOC).
Auna takes on the role at a pivotal time for Bougainville as the company moves to a more active operational phase.
He joined the company in March 2024 as CFO and Company Secretary and has been serving in the role of acting CEO since July 2024, following the resignation of the late David Osikore.
Auna will continue to act as CFO and Company Secretary until a new appointment for these positions is made.
The newly appointed CEO has more than 30 years’ experience in finance and accounting, strategic planning, senior management, and corporate operations in both the private and public sectors in Papua New Guinea and Australia.
Prior to joining Bougainville Copper, Auna served as Secretary of the Department of Treasury and Finance with the Autonomous Bougainville Government.
In February 2024, Bougainville Copper was granted a five-year extension of its EL01 exploration licence in the Panguna mine project area.
