Blast Resources (CSE:BLST) has identified a strong uranium and thorium anomaly extending approximately 12km at its Wales Lake Uranium Project in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The anomaly trends north-south across claim MC00019518 and is evident in length and width. This discovery sits on the eastern side of the Clearwater Domain in the Athabasca Basin region.
“We’re confident that this anomaly will provide us with invaluable information that can be leveraged during a future work program. Moving forward, we’re eager to continue driving growth at the Project,” CEO Casey Forward says.
The Wales Lake Uranium Project consists of three claim groups on the southwest side of the Athabasca Basin. Historic data show seven faults, shears, or conductors within the claim area.
The Clearwater Domain follows a 325km curvilinear aeromagnetic high and gravity low, extending from the south margins of the Athabasca Basin to its northern margin.
New geophysical surveys reveal the domain extends deeper than previously known, to approximately 22 km, and dips beneath several Patterson Lake corridor deposits.
Geological evidence supports a model whereby radiogenic heat from buried Clearwater granites created elevated geothermal gradients beneath overlying sedimentary sequences, promoting mobilisation of deep basement fluids.
The Wales Lake Project is strategically located within the Patterson Lake Corridor, which hosts the Triple R and Arrow deposits.
