Black Horse Mining (ASX:BHL) has commenced deeper drilling at its Mt Egerton Gold Project in Victoria.
The company is targeting 500m holes to test the geological model and accurately position historic workings, with a high-capacity diamond rig now operating inside the Waste Transfer Facility.
Deeper targeted holes are expected to begin within the next 10 days.
Black Horse has also cleared the Sister Rose box-cut, preparing for portal and adit refurbishment works to commence within days.
It says this work will be instrumental in locating the Sister Rose shaft and positioning one end of the 3D model accurately.
“We are excited to begin the deeper testing of the stratigraphic and structural setting of the mineralised system and the 3D model of the historical workings,” Managing Director David Frances says.
“We also expect work on the Sister Rose portal and adit to commence imminently, which will be instrumental in aiding the location of the Sister Rose shaft and pinning down one end of the 3D model.”
The drilling program will involve several holes from the same site, potentially including wedging and daughter holes.
Hole depths are expected to be approximately 500m but may vary depending on ground conditions.
Access tracks are being sheeted to provide all-weather access for the deeper drilling program.
The Mt Egerton Project contains historic workings that Black Horse is working to accurately map and extend through systematic exploration.
