Bindi Metals (ASX:BIM) has defined a large-scale antimony soil anomaly at its Donja Mutnica Project in Serbia after receiving the results of a previous rock chip and soil sampling program.
A total of 391 soil samples — originally collected and stored in November 2023 by the project’s previous owner, Apollo Minerals (ASX:AON) — were submitted to an ALS laboratory in Serbia. The results show a 3.3km-by-0.6km antimony zone with a coincident 5.1km-by-0.6km arsenic anomaly north-west of the Kreva prospect.
The latest rock chip assays from Kreva returned grades up to 2% antimony, while historical assays measured up to 4.5%.
Follow-up field work on the Kreva prospect is expected to resume once weather permits. The company aims to generate preliminary drilling targets.
Bindi Metals is currently progressing the exploration licence renewal of the Donja Mutnica Project, in parallel with fast-tracking the Lisa Project application to be granted.
Director Eddie King says the company is encouraged by the results at the Donja Mutnica Project and the potential of a significant exploration target.
“The high-grade antimony assays and extensive soil anomaly indicate the potential for a large antimony mineral system at the Kreva prospect,” King says.
“This exploration will be progressed while we focus on achieving the grant of the Lisa Antimony-Gold Project as our key focus in Serbia.”
Historical data from the Lisa Project is currently being collated and reviewed to generate targets for when on ground fieldwork can begin.
The company notes historical data indicates 60,000 tonnes of antimony ore was mined between 5% to 20% antimony during 1932-1951.
In September 2024, Bindi Metals acquired the two antimony projects — Donja Mutnica and Lisa, located within the Tethyan Magmatic Belt in Serbia — from Apollo .
Both projects have been uncovered as prospective for antimony mineralisation and are considered suitable for a separate company focus.
