BHP Group (ASX:BHP) has announced significant changes to its executive leadership team as incoming CEO Brandon Craig prepares to take office on 1 July 2026.
To enhance regional focus, the company is splitting its President Americas role into separate North America and South America positions.
Jessica Farrell, currently Vice President Innovation, will become President North America starting 1 July; and will temporarily oversee South America until a permanent appointment is made.
Current COO Edgar Basto will transition to Chief Enterprise Performance Officer on 1 September, maintaining oversight of health, safety, security, and the BHP operating system.
Finally, Geraldine Slattery will expand her leadership as President Australia by assuming responsibility for Copper South Australia, bringing all Australian operating assets under her purview.
Craig says the appointments build organisational capacity with the right skills and experience to deliver the BHP’s strategy and growth agenda.
“Our operating environment is increasingly complex, but also rich in opportunity for companies that are best able to positively engage stakeholders, deploy capital to the right opportunities in a disciplined way, and deliver safe, reliable operational performance,” Craig says.
