Bezant Resources (LSE:BZT) expected to deliver the first copper-gold concentrates from the Hope & Gorob Copper-Gold Project in Namibia, during the second half of 2026.
This news comes after the company completed engineering design and 65% of work programs being put out to tender of which 45% have already been awarded.
Bezant has awarded several contracts to various companies, including Unitrans Namibia, UMA Projects and Weir Minerals Pump & Mining Solutions Namibia.
Unitrans has been awarded a contract for the mining and logistics in relation to hauling pre-concentrate ore to the NZLM Processing Plant for processing.
UMS Projects has been awarded the engineering and procurement contract in relation to upgrading and refurbishing the plant, while Weir Minerals has secured an equipment supply agreement for the supply of a 150 tonnes per hour crushing and screening equipment at the Hope & Gorob Mine site.
Executive Chairman Colin Bird says project financiers wish to conduct detailed due diligence on the veracity of the project’s technical and financial assumptions prior to committing funds.
“With the financier due diligence now completed we anticipate completing financing documentation over the coming weeks,” Bird says.
At the mine site, construction engineering crews are on the ground and civils and earthworks have begun in preparation for the installation of the core shed and workshop offices which have been fabricated offsite.
Long lead items have also been procured and are being fabricated with the cone crushed for the NZLM plant upgrade. The upgrade is expected to be delivered in early April 2026.
The Hope & Gorob Project spans 800km2 within the prospective Matchless Copper Belt in central Namibia. The Matchless Copper Belt contains multiple copper-gold Besshi-type volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits, including the historically mined Otjihase copper-gold deposit that is located northeast of the Hope property.
