Barton Gold increases saleable gold concentrates to 1,400oz from Central Gawler Mill, South Australia

Barton Gold (ASX:BGD) has received assays for the third parcel of material from its Central Gawler Mill cleanout, increasing its saleable gold concentrates to some 1,400 ounces.

In December 2022, Barton recovered more than an estimated 10 tonnes of gold-bearing material from a clean-out of its South Australian mill. The company, which has a market capitalisation of $43.93 million, has already reported assays from two parcels of clean-out material, with average grades of up to 3,000 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 7,000 g/t gold, respectively.

Now, Barton reports the third parcel of 3.6 dry tonnes of material assayed an average $1,700g/t gold (Au) for 210 ounces Au of contained metal.

Of course, as with the first two parcels, these assays numbers are indicative only, and final recoveries may vary significantly based on metallurgy and other factors

Nevertheless, Barton says its total saleable gold concentrates are now 11 dry tonnes grading 3,880g/t Au for a contained metal value of 1,400 ounces of gold worth around $4.1 million at the current AUD gold price of $2,950 per ounce.

Commenting on the updated mill recoveries, Barton Gold Managing Director Alex Scanlon says: “Our mill is a valuable, fully permitted strategic infrastructure platform for our stage one and long-term strategies. The more than $5 million worth of gold it has yielded to date is a considerable ‘advance bonus’ for Barton.”

The company adds that the third parcel is the final main parcel of materials from the December 2022 mill cleanout.
