Barton Gold (ASX:BGD) has formed an exclusive research and development (R&D) partnership with SensOre (ASX:S3N) to adapt its Western Australian artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) discriminant predictive targeting (DPT) engine to South Australia.
Barton reports it has signed binding terms with SensOre in order to begin phase two development and validation of the South Australian DPT targeting model.
The company says the DPT will focus on gold and copper mineralisation within a 60,000km-square area surrounding Barton’s tenements within the central Gawler Craton.
The company notes execution of the binding agreement has resulted in the immediate start of phase two development, and will see Barton contribute a further $350,000 to development of the DPT, following an initial payment of $45,000 to the development of phase one regional prospectivity mapping.
Barton also notes mapping resulted in the discovery of multiple prospective new gold and copper targets on its tenements.
Key terms of the agreement include Barton being entitled to 10 years’ exclusive use of the South Australian DPT module within the 60,000km-square area indicated by the white polygon, during which time SensOre will also not compete with Barton to acquire gold or copper targets therein.
Other terms of the agreement include SensOre becoming entitled to additional benefits in the form of royalties linked to the quantum of gold and copper produced, subject to the successful production of gold and/or copper mineralisation at new targets predicted by the DPT.

Speaking on the new partnership, Barton Gold Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, Alex Scanlon says: “We are excited to be taking the next step toward the development and trial application of these technologies in the central Gawler Craton. This is a very rich mineralised domain with relatively low historical exploration.

SensOre is on the cutting edge of new mineral exploration technologies and is an ideal partner for Barton. Successful development of this technology is expected to accelerate Barton’s regional exploration successes, and further strengthen Barton’s regional strategic development advantage in the central Gawler Craton.”
The company also reports it will provide its ‘extensive’ private data sets for integration into a South Australian ‘data cube’ to refine, and then drill and validate the DPT targeting model.
Barton Gold is an ASX-listed Australian gold exploration company which currently hosts a total attributable 1.1Moz Au JORC (2012) mineral resources endowment (28.68Mt @ 1.2g/t Au), a pipeline of advanced exploration projects and brownfield mines, as well as 100% ownership of the only regional gold mill in South Australia’s central Gawler Craton.
The company currently owns both the Tarcoola and Tunkillia gold projects within South Australia.
