Barrick Mining (TSX:ABX) has appointed Mark Hill as the CEO to lead the company through a planned initial public offering of its North American gold assets, as well as elevating him to the board as non-independent director.
Chairman John Thornton says Hill brings the rigor and operational discipline to fully capitalise on Barrick’s assets and capabilities, and to drive improved performance and growth.
“His deep operational knowledge and sector expertise will be invaluable as the board oversees the company’s next stage of development,” Thornton says.
Additionally, Barrick Mining has appointed Robert Samek to its board of directors and will be joining the Audit & Risk and Compensation committees.
Samek is a Canadian national and former senior partner of McKinsey & Company, and brings global experience in energy and materials. O
