Barrick Mining (NYSE:B | TSX:ABX) has announced a number of new executive appointments, along with an update on its planned initial public offering (IPO) of a new company, North American Barrick, which will hold its North American gold assets.
Appointments include Tim Cribb as Chief Operating Officer, Wessel Hamman as Chief Financial Officer, Joe Heckendorn as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Megan Tibbals as Chief Technical Officer, Richard Barley as Chief HR Officer, Javier Ortúzar as Vice President of Exploration, and Amanda Steensen as Vice President of Sustainability.
Barrick notes that this team has already been working together for several months and includes Barrick veterans with significant expertise across operations, exploration, and development.
Barrick CEO Mark Hill says that the company has been delivering “extremely positive” results with its North American assets.
“The IPO is expected to accelerate this momentum by giving North American Barrick its own dedicated management team and highlighting the attractiveness of these gold assets in one of the premier gold districts in the world,” Hill says.
North American Barrick will comprise a portfolio of four tier-one gold assets, including Carlin, Cortez, Turquoise Ridge, and the Pueblo Viejo mines. These assets together produced around 2 million ounces of gold in 2025.
The new entity will also include the company’s wholly owned Fourmile Gold Project, which is adjacent to the Nevada Gold Mines complex. Barrick believes that Fourmile is one of the “most significant” gold discoveries of the century and will be a ‘high-grade’, low-cost growth opportunity for the portfolio.
The company has not identified the optimal structure for the IPO, with North American Barrick expected to have a primary listing in New York and a secondary listing in Toronto, subject to SEC registration and Canadian qualifications.
The company notes that it is on track to complete the IPO by the end of 2026.
Barrick is a global exploration and development company with operations spanning 17 countries.
