ASX-listed battery metals explorer Azure Minerals (ASX:AZS) reports it has completed a 4,039m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its 100% owned Barton Gold Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.
The recent drilling campaign comprised a total of 35 drillholes and was conducted to target 3 areas that are considered prospective for hosting gold (Au) mineralisation.
These areas within the project tenement include the Daisy Corner, which returned anomalous Au intersections of up to 1.07g/t Au from previous RC drilling as announced by the company in May this year, as well as the Daisy West target, which is a soil-covered target located 1km west of Daisy Central.
The final target area is the Trevan Well, where an ‘extensive’ surface sampling program by the company identified Au anomalism associated with altered quartz-veined weathered rock and where several small historical Au mine workings are located.
Azure Minerals also notes that the Daisy Corner target covers potential northern extensions of Au mineralisation drilled by Australian Au explorer Genesis Minerals (ASX:GMD) at its Puzzle North deposit, which adjoins the southern tenement boundary of Azure Minerals’ E40/393 tenement.

The company’s Barton project is located adjacent to the historical gold mining town of Kookynie, about 40km south of the township of Leonora in WA’s Eastern Goldfields region and comprises 9 tenements that cover a total land area of 888km-square. The project covers a contiguous 88km of strike length of the prime Kookynie greenstone sequence, which is host to numerous historical gold mines and current gold deposits.
Azure Minerals is currently undertaking bedrock-focused drilling to test for Au mineralisation at the Daisy Corner target, as well as other structural settings associated with cross-cutting shears and fault zones. Maiden drilling conducted by the company comprised 21 RC holes for a total of 3,473m of drilling.
With the RC drilling campaign now complete, Azure Minerals announces that assays are currently pending.
