Azimut Exploration confirms wide lithium zone at Galinée

Following a second phase of diamond drilling, Azimut Exploration (TSX-V:AZM) has confirmed a wide lithium zone at the Galinée property in the James Bay region of Québec, Canada.

The company says the zone appears to be one of the most significant lithium pegmatite discoveries in the James Bay region, with a strike length of 700m and a roughly east-west trend.

The zone remains open to the east and south, and likely represents the southern extension of the Adina deposit on the adjacent property owned by Winsome Resources (ASX:WR1).

Drilling intersected 1.66% lithium oxide over 40.45m, including 2.61% lithium oxide over 21.6m, and 2.02% lithium oxide over 32.23m, including 3.28% lithium oxide over 6.73m.

The campaign comprised 14 holes for 3,203.65m, including two extended holes and two that were abandoned.

Azimut says drilling will continue throughout the summer, alongside a comprehensive property-scale till sampling and prospecting program currently underway to identify further drill targets.

The company and its exploration partner SOQUEM have ranked Galinée as one of their top priorities for this year.

The Galinée property covers 335km2 and is a 50-50 joint venture between Azimut and SOQUEM.

Azimut Exploration is a mineral explorer focused on its large portfolio in Québec. The company’s projects are considered prospective for gold, lithium, copper, and nickel.
