Austin Metals reports ‘high-grade’ hits up to 16g/t Au at its namesake gold project

Austin Metals (ASX: AYT) has identified ‘significant’ gold mineralised structures following a series of drill campaigns and re-sampling work at the Brunswick Hill and Brians prospects within its flagship Austin Gold Project in Western Australia.

The results, generated from various RC, AC, and diamond drilling, along with channel sampling and re-assay work has intersected ‘significant’ widths and grades across both prospects, with key intersects from Brians including:

  • 2.6m @ 16.4g/t Au from surface from new channel assays
  • 8m @ 1.3g/t Au from surface, incl. 1m @ 7.0g/t Au from re-assays

Further results from Brunswick Hill include:

  • 5m @ 2.5g/t Au from 8m, incl. 1m @ 9.8g/t Au from re-assays
  • 5.8m @ 0.8g/t Au from 44.2m, incl. 0.5m @ 4.6g/t Au from new assays

Speaking on the results, Austin Metals Technical Director Leo Horn said: “These new assay results further confirm evidence for ore grade mineralisation and further drilling may well lead to the delineation of important near-surface resources.

Brunswick Hill and Brians remain high priority targets for the Company in addition to a variety of new discoveries being unearthed by the new aircore results including Everlong and Overdrive. We look forward to continuing our recent success in the upcoming drill programs.”

The company also notes that a gravity review indicates ‘numerous’ other north-south trending mineralised structures across the Brunswick Hill and Brians deposits, that reportedly extend for several hundred metres along untested strike.

In addition, AC drilling conducted across another north-trending structure south of Brians has resulted in the discovery of the new Overdrive prospect.

The flagship Austin Gold Project is located in the ‘highly prospective’ Murchison Greenstone province of Western Australia, with Austin Metals holding an 80% ownership position.

The project is situated directly adjacent to Musgrave Minerals’ (ASX:MGV) Cue Gold Project, home to the ‘high grade’ Break of Day deposit and Starlight discovery, and within 50km of two operating mills along the Great Northern Highway.

The company reports that it will move forward with a more-expansive drilling program across these newly discovered structures in order to target extensions to the mineralisation.
