Aurumin (ASX:AUN) reports it has received final assay results following diamond drilling (DD) and reverse circulation (RC) pre-collar drilling campaigns at its 100% owned Central Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia.
The recent drilling campaigns were conducted with a goal of extending and better defining the company’s previously reported Inferred underground Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 14.2Mt @ 1.1g/t Au for 500,000oz Au at the Two Mile Hill deposit.
Drilling focused on a tonalite intrusion between 250m and 500m below surface, with key intercepts from the DD campaign include:
- Hole SN_TM_RD_22_0001: 242.7m @ 1.20g/t Au from 203.1m downhole, and;
- 8.3m @ 4.82g/t Au from 214.2m
- 4.3m @ 4.03g/t Au from 244.5m
- 7.8m @ 2.33g/t Au from 337.4m
Key intercepts from the RC drilling campaign include:
- Hole SN_TM_RD_22_0002: 2.0m @ 2.78g/t Au from 93m
- Hole SN_TM_RD_22_0005: 5.0m @ 7.29g/t Au from 80m (stopped in mineralisation)
- Hole SN_TM_RD_22_0006: 2.0m @ 5.05g/t Au from 79m
Speaking on the results, Aurumin Managing Director Brad Valiukas said: “This is another good result and, along with the previously released diamond results, continues to add to the picture at Two Mile Hill.
Along with the recently completed RC drilling at Shillington, this sets us up to now model the Shillington and Two Mile Hill deposits as a single geological complex, with known grade in the banded iron formation, mafic and tonalite.
“We are commencing an updated resource model and look forward to releasing the model results and plans for the next round of drilling”

The company also notes that drillhole SN_TM_RD_22_0001 was designed to further test the northern portion of the Two Mile Hill inferred geological resource at depth to aid in its goal of extending the deposits current MRE.
In addition, the majority of the known mineralisation at Two Mile Hill is hosted within the tonalite intrusion, which demonstrates that mineralised veins dip shallowly to the northeast.
The Central Sandstone Gold Project is located about 12km south of the township of Sandstone in WA’s East Murchison Mineral Field and comprises a granted tenure covering 112km-square, including two granted mining licences and a 784,000-ounce gold mineral resource.
The project has produced in excess of 1Moz of gold from surface, open pit and underground operations since the 1890s, with more recent gold production boasting a combined total of about 4.4Mt at an average grade of 3.6g/t Au for a production of 508,000oz gold.
With the final assays from the DD and RC campaigns now returned, Aurumin announces that it has moved forward with the commencement of an updated resource model while it plans for the next round of drilling at the Central Sandstone Gold Project.
