Atomic Eagle (ASX:AEU) has defined up to 4km strike length in radiometric anomalies from an ongoing close-spaced ground radiometric survey at the Muntanga North area within its Muntanga Uranium Project in Zambia.
Radiometric anomalies have been defined across eight target areas between the Muntanga and Dibbwi East deposits.
Atomic Eagle has completed ground radiometrics across 53km to date, with the remainder of the survey to be completed across Q2 and Q3 for target areas six to eight.
Close-spaced surveying has enabled the company to identify peak radiometric zones within broader anomalies, which is expected to assist with drill targeting.
‘Strong’ radiometric responses from this survey include 424 of 854 readings above background, with 87 readings exceeding 500 counts per second.
The company says results align with soil geochemical anomalism, favourable structural corridors, and Escarpment Grit Formation host rocks.
Drilling is expected to begin shortly, with these results increasing the company’s confidence in near-term drill target prioritisation.
CEO Phil Hoskins says the company is “encouraged” by the initial ground radiometric survey results at Muntanga North.
“These anomalies occur along strike from the company’s existing resource areas and are hosted within the same favourable Escarpment Grit Formation,” Hoskins says.
“The detailed ground surveys have not only confirmed the historical airborne anomalies in target areas one to five but, importantly, have helped identify the higher intensity zones within these systems.
“This provides greater confidence in prioritising drill targets as we prepare to commence drilling in the coming weeks.”
