Astral grows Feysville Project potential

Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) has intersected ‘wide, high-grade’ gold at its Kamperman prospect in Western Australia, demonstrating the growth potential of the wider Feysville Gold Project area.

As previously announced, the $55.29 million market capitalisation company drilled 8 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 1,110m at the Kamperman prospect. The assay results for the final 6 holes have now been received.

Some of the best new results include drillhole FRC241 with 21m @ 4.16g/t Au from 31m, including 2m @ 12.73g/t Au from 47m; and drillhole FRC238 with 5m @ 5.89g/t Au from 112m, including 1m @ 20.62g/t Au from 114m.

Astral says the ‘high-grade’ results are interpreted to be associated with the north-northwest-trending shears and are located within a unit of intercalated dolerite and volcaniclastics.

Commenting on the drill results, Astral Resources Managing Director Marc Ducler says: “Kamperman is fast becoming an exciting exploration target, with each line of relatively wide-spaced RC drilling having returned significant high-grade assay results.

These latest results have confirmed the presence of mineralisation at Kamperman over a 240-metre strike length and which remains open to both the north and south”

These latest results have confirmed the presence of mineralisation at Kamperman over a 240-metre strike length and which remains open to both the north and south.

Geochemical results from recent drilling, due to be received shortly, will assist in understanding the local geology and, in turn, in targeting the next phase of drilling.

The Hyperno and Ethereal prospects returned more moderate assay results that will require further follow-up, albeit as a lower priority to Kamperman.”

Astral notes geochemical assay results for the Feysville RC program are pending. The interpretation of these results will provide guidance as to the next phases of drilling at Kamperman and may result in the exploration effort shifting focus from the Mandilla prospect to Kamperman.

The company adds that an aircore and diamond drill rig have recently been delivered to the Mandilla prospect, and a Scoping Study is on track to be completed this month at Mandilla.

The Feysville Project is located within the Kambalda Domain of the Archean Yilgarn Craton of Western Australia.

Astral Resources is a Perth-based gold and base metals explorer focused on exploring for precious metals in Western Australia.

As of 30 June 2023, the company had $1.3 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report. The company launched a $3 million share placement in late July and then raised $1.6 million through a share purchase plan completed on 15 September 2023
