Aruma branching out with more rigs across Salmon Gums

Aruma Resources (ASX:AAJ) is looking at further targeted drilling at its Salmon Gums Project in Western Australia to develop its gold and rare earth element (REE) prospects.

The company says drilling is being planned after announcing today (7 February 2024) it has completed a 63-hole initial aircore drilling program at Salmon Gums.

Drilling contractors K-Drill was employed to complete the initial drilling program.

Of the 63 holes completed, 39 targeted ionic REEs at the Circle Valley North prospect and 24 tested for gold-bearing lodes at the Thistle prospect.

The REE drilling targeted terrain interpreted as a northern extension of recent REE discoveries by Meeka Metals (ASX:MEK) at its Circle Valley REE resource, and at OD6 Metals’ (ASX:OD6) REE discovery in the same area.

Results from aircore drilling are expected to be released when available.

Aruma Resources Managing Director Glenn Grayson says: “We are excited to have commenced field work for 2024 with aircore drilling at the Salmon Gums Project.

This reconnaissance drilling program was designed to provide an effective test of our exploration model at the project, and investigate the potential clay hosted REE potential in the southern extent of the project, while also seeking to expand the gold mineralised footprint.

Subject to results, we will look to develop the Thistle gold prospect with further targeted exploration and continue progress on the Circle Valley North REE target.”

Meanwhile, the company reports it has also completed first-pass auger drilling at its Carter Well Project, also in Western Australia.

Drilling at Carter Well was undertaken as part of Aruma’s systematic appraisal of the project’s prospectivity and targeted gold and nickel-copper pathfinder mineralisation.

The company notes drilling was also designed to help delineate potential anomalies within the previously unexplored Carter Well project area. Aruma is currently assessing next steps for Carter Well.

Aruma Resources is a minerals explorer focused on the exploration and development of a portfolio of prospective gold and lithium projects sitting in major, active mineralised belts in Western Australia.

As of 30 December 2023, Aruma Resources had $2.154 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
