Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV) is focused on advancing discovery-focused exploration across its Pilbara-based assets in Western Australia by appointing a new non-executive Chairman and Executive Director to the board.
The company has appointed former De Grey Mining Chairman Simon Lill as a non-executive Chairman, utilising his 30 years of experience in corporate finance, capital markets, and resources leadership to support explorers’ scale to development.
During his time with De Grey Mining, Lill oversaw the discovery and advancement of the 11.2-million-ounce Hemi gold deposit in the Pilbara.
He was engaged in capital raisings exceeding $1 billion at De Grey before its $5 billion acquisition by Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST).
Lill also currently serves on the board of Ballard Mining (ASX:BM1), Evergreen Lithium (ASX:EG1), and Kairos Minerals (ASX:KAI).
Executive Director Jozsef Patarica says Lill’s background in corporate growth, capital markets, and strategic execution strengthens the company in its development stage.
“Simon’s track record in guiding a Pilbara gold discovery from early-stage exploration through to a multibillion-dollar outcome speaks for itself,” Patarica says.
Meanwhile, the company has also appointed Matthew Greentree as an Executive Director on the board.
Greentree has more than 25 years of experience as a geologist and mining executive, who previously acted as Ausgold’s (ASX:AUC) Managing Director and CEO.
During his time with Ausgold, Greentree played a pivotal role during the discovery and systematic expansion of the Katanning Gold Project, with the resource growing to 3.04 million ounces gold and the definition of a 1.28-million-ounce ore reserved.
“Matthew has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to convert geological insight into scalable gold systems,” Patarica adds.
“His experience in structurally controlled deposits is highly aligned with our strategy at Titan and Carlow, where we are targeting resource growth across multiple centres.”
