Ark Mines (ASX:AHK) has been granted an exploration permit for Mineral EPM 29189 within the Jackson Fluorite Project in North Queensland.
The permit, granted on 26 June by the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development, covers eight sub-blocks and has a five-year term, expiring on 25 June 2031.
Ark Mines will progress planning and exploration activities in line with the approved work program and statutory permit conditions.
Managing Director Ben Emery says the granting of this exploration permit “further establishes” the company’s exploration footprint at the Jackson Fluorite Project and in North Queensland.
“With fluorite recognised as a critical mineral with diversified industrial demand, we look forward to systematically advancing exploration across the permit area,” Emery says.
“The Jackson Fluorite Project has a well-documented history of mining activity, with mineralisation traced along strike for approximately 1km in structurally controlled fluorite-bearing veins within and around the Nundah Granodiorite.
“Historical workings include numerous pits, shafts, and open cut areas. Prior exploration across the application area has been of limited sensitivity, providing the company with a compelling opportunity to apply modern exploration techniques.
“This tenement is located near our Sandy Mitchell Rare Earth, Heavy Mineral and Critical Minerals Project and Chillagoe, where we have a team ready to progress exploration.”
