Arizona Gold & Silver (TSX-V:AZS) has reported intersections of around 10m of unbrecciated banded and massive vein quartz within a greater 35.7m intercept that hosts quartz vein and breccia at the Philadelphia Project in Arizona, US.
Intercept one reveals a 59% increase to the true thickness, cutting the zone 60m up dip at drillhole PC25-155.
Vice President of Exploration Greg Hahn says this drillhole confirmed Arizona’s geological modelling of the project.
“My understanding of this low sulphidation epithermal system predicted that with depth, the system would be wider and potentially much higher grade as we penetrate the ‘boiling zone’ of the system,” Hahn says.
“We continue to see a decrease in balded calcite and an increase in quartz replacement of bladed calcite.”

Hahn also adds that the fine layering of colloform and thin alternating compositional banding in the vein illustrates “classic” epithermal textures
“This is also a feature we have never witnessed in drill core before. In short we believe the vein system has the potential to rapidly open up into high-grade zones capable of delivering substantially increased grades,” Hahn explains.
Arizona’s modelling predicts a continuation to the vein down dip for another 300m minimum, already hosting a 300m depth remaining open down dip.
“Demonstrating the continuity of this vein along a strike length of 1km would establish a very significant discovery,” Hahn adds.
Intercepts from drillhole PC25-156 have a drill thickness of around 64%, with the core currently being sawed, sampled, and assayed at Skyline Labs in Tucson
