Andean Silver (ASX:ASL) has reported ‘record-high grades’ at its Cerro Bayo Silver-Gold Project in Chile.
The company intersected 268.60 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 3,045g/t silver (Ag), grading 25,340g/t silver equivalent (Ag Eq) over 1.4m at the Trinidad vein, marking the ‘highest grades ever’ recorded at the project.
These results form part of an ongoing infill drilling campaign designed to convert inferred resources to measured and indicated.
“Our twin-pronged strategy of growing and upgrading the resource continues to create excellent results and will be incorporated into the upcoming feasibility and restart study,” Managing Director Matthew Allen says.
“These latest results from infill drilling within the inferred resource areas highlight the strong continuity of the mineralisation at the Cerro Bayo Project and, therefore, the huge opportunity we have to drive value by upgrading these resources to measured and indicated.”
The ‘standout’ intersection at Trinidad includes 2.4m @ 15,558g/t AgEq, incorporating 1,882g/t Ag and 164.8g/t Au. Additional results from the first drilling at Trinidad in over 10 years include 2.5m @ 500g/t AgEq and 3.3m @ 480g/t AgEq.
Drilling at the Delia SE area continues to support resource conversion, with results including 3.1m @ 3,356g/t AgEq and 3.0m @ 889g/t AgEq.
The company says these results demonstrate strong continuity of mineralisation throughout the Laguna Verde mine complex. The accelerated drilling program targets the recent total resource of 20 million tonnes @ 211g/t AgEq for 136 million ounces AgEq.
Resource growth drilling will commence in the wider Cerro Bayo district this quarter for the first time in 20 years, targeting priority deposits including Guanaco, Raul, and Marcela.
The company maintains four drill rigs on site and is considering increasing capacity to support planned 2026 and 2027 activities.
