American Tungsten & Antimony (ASX:AT4) has reported its strongest drilling results to date from the Antimony Canyon Project in Utah.
The company intersected 10.37m @ 3.98% antimony from 3.35m, including 4.57m at 8.56% antimony from 6.71m in hole ACP26DD026 at the Little Emma prospect. A second hole returned 5.7m @ 2.80% antimony from 48.68m, including 1.95m at 8.09% antimony from 51.21m.
The results extend the mineralised zone along strike and confirm a stratabound antimony system characterised by ‘high-grade’ stibnite pods within broader mineralised envelopes. The company says 17 of the latest 24 holes intersected the mineralised horizon.
“ACP26DD026 is the strongest result of our programme to date, and it speaks for itself. … [T]he majority of the seventeen holes reported in this release intersected the mineralised horizon, [and] our understanding of the system is growing with every hole drilled,” Managing Director Andre Booyzen says.
“Little Emma is just one of more than twenty historic workings within our Patented Claims, barely one percent of the total project footprint.”
Phase one diamond drilling has completed 30 holes for 1,970m on the Little Emma Patented Claim, with 24 holes returning assay results.
All drilling has focused on the Little Emma prospect, representing less than 1% of the total project footprint.
‘High-grade’ intersections from the latest holes locally exceed grade assumptions underpinning the Patent Claim Exploration Target of 6.1–6.9 million tonnes at 1.4%–2.3% antimony.
The company notes that the potential quantity and grade of the exploration target are conceptual in nature, with insufficient exploration to estimate a mineral resource estimate.
Hole ACP26DD026 intersected massive to semi-massive acicular stibnite crystals, with peak interval returning 42.1% antimony. The company describes this as ‘near-pure’ massive stibnite replacement of the host tuff fabric.
The Antimony Canyon Project comprises 20 patented claims in Utah, where American Tungsten & Antimony holds 100% of surface and mineral rights.
The project features more than 20 historic workings across a district-scale hydrothermal antimony system.
