American Rare Earths seeks to extend drilling program at Halleck Creek Project, US

American Rare Earths (ASX:ARR) has applied for an updated drilling permit to complete an additional 31 holes for about 2,400m at its Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming, US.

The company reports this extended drilling program will aim to define measured and indicated resources, collect core material for use in additional metallurgical testing and geotechnical testing, and conduct preliminary hydrological sampling and monitoring.

The drilling program also aims to expand into surrounding claims, as less than 25% of the Halleck Creek District has been drilled. Further, the company plans for the drilling to provide additional feedstock material for research and development projects to support ongoing advancements in REE technology.

American Rare Earths plans to start drilling in Q3 2023, with the program expected to continue into Q4 2023. The drilling program is subject to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality – Land Quality Division issuing exploration permits.

In the meantime, the company’s geologists are working to expand their regional geological knowledge and increase resource classification at Halleck Creek. Mapping and sampling activities are underway at the newly claimed County Line prospect area, to be followed by further exploration of claim holdings west of the current resource areas.

Commenting on the updated drilling program, American Rare Earths Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Chris Gibbs says: “The outstanding results we achieved with the JORC Resource of 1.43 billion tonnes at Halleck Creek provides the foundation to build what we think will be one of the most important rare earths projects in the United States, or even the world.

The 1.05 million tonnes of Nd-Pr at Halleck Creek can unlock current boundaries of the electrification of the US economy”

The 1.05 million tonnes of Nd-Pr at Halleck Creek can unlock current boundaries of the electrification of the US economy. We at ARR are rolling up our sleeves to collect, evaluate, and present the environmental, geological, mining, metallurgical, marketing, and financial data needed to develop Halleck Creek while being stalwart stewards of the environment and trustworthy corporate citizens with the people of Wyoming.”

American Rare Earths is an ASX-listed rare earths explorer focused on its flagship Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming, US. Along with Halleck Creek, the company also holds the La Paz Project in Arizona and the Searchlight Project in Nevada.

The company had $13.465m cash at hand as of 31 March 2023, according to its last quarterly presentation.
