Amani Gold (ASX: ANL) has announced the presence of a number of broad gold mineralisation zones following a recent diamond drilling campaign at the 4.1Moz Kebigada Deposit within its Giro Gold Project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The results, generated from 3 diamond holes as part of an ongoing program targeting the existing resource area and depth extensions, have confirmed multiples zones of broad gold mineralisation, with ‘significant’ assays from hole GRDD037 including:
- 201m @ 0.97g/t Au from surface incl.
- 20.85m @ 2.05g/t Au from 82.20m
- 41m @ 1.30g/t Au from 125m
- 25.06m @ 0.64g/t from 309m
The company notes that assays returned from the final 76.16m of hole GRDD036 indicate a delineated mineralised zone until end of hole, and that overall results highlight a mineralisation zone at depth beyond the current 2020 resource.
Addressing the result, Amani Gold Chief Executive Officer Conrad Karageorge said: “Our 2022 diamond drill program has continued to confirm broad zones of gold mineralisation within the existing ore body as well as extensions to the existing 4.1Moz gold resource.
“Our 2022 diamond drill program has continued to confirm broad zones of gold mineralisation within the existing ore body”
We look forward to updating shareholders with the results of the final six diamond drill holes and our RC drilling campaign.”
The Giro Gold Project is located within the DRC, approximately 35km west of the Randgold / Anglo Ashanti 16Moz Kibali Mine, within the Moto Greenstone Belt.

The project comprises two permits covering a total land area of 497km² and includes a global Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate for the Kebigada and Douze Match deposits of 132Mt @ 1.04g/t Au (0.5g/t Au cut-off grade).
With the current diamond drill program ongoing, Amani reports that it will move forward with further drilling operations to test the grade and extent of mineralisation while it awaits assay results.
