Altoro Metals (ASX:ARO) has appointed Myles Campion as non-executive director for the company, effective immediately.
Campion has over 35 years of experience in the natural resources sector. He previously held senior roles in mineral exploration, resource analysis, fund management, equities research, and project and debt funding.
Altoro says Campion has a unique blend of technical experience and capital markets, which will support the company’s European critical minerals portfolio.
He has a Graduate Diploma of Business, majoring in Finance, and a Bachelor of Science Honors in Geology from the University of Wales College in Cardiff, and a Master of Science in Minerals Exploration from the Royal School of Mines in London.
Campion was previously involved with the Toral Zinc Project in León, northern Spain, providing him with extensive knowledge of the European zinc sector.
The Toral Project is located 150km from Altoro’s flagship Novales Zinc Project in Cantabria. The two projects are located in a ‘highly prospective’ metallogenic belt.
Altoro Metals Chairman Tony Wehby says the company is delighted to welcome Campion to the board.
“His combination of geological expertise, zinc sector experience, and capital markets knowledge will be a tremendous asset as we continue to advance our Spanish projects,” Wehby adds.
“Importantly, his extensive, hands-on experience with the Toral Zinc Project provides valuable regional insight and a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with developing zinc projects in northern Spain.
“We look forward to working with Myles as we accelerate exploration and development activities and continue building long-term value for our shareholders.”
Altoro Metals, formerly known as Variscan Mines, is a mineral explorer focused on advancing the Novales-Udias Project in one of Europe’s “most established zinc mining districts”.
