The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is down 71.4 points this morning (21 July), representing a 0.82% drop to a total of 8,685.8 points as of 10.45am (AEST).
The broader index has gained 1.23% to its index over the last five trading sessions, with all sectors performing worse on the S&P/ASX200 this morning, including the materials sector which is down 0.44%.
Battery minerals provider Liontown Resources (ASX:LTR) has jumped 2.16% today to a share price of $0.94 after sharing its quarterly webcast to close the last trading week.
Lynas Rare Earths (ASX:LYC) is following behind with a 2% increase to a trading price of $10.19 today.
On the declines list, gold producer Regis Resources (ASX:RRL) has dropped 4.25% to a share price of $4.28 after releasing its July corporate presentation this morning.
The S&P/ASX200 is Australia’s leading share market index and contains the top 200 ASX-listed companies in terms of market capitalisation, and accounts for about 80% of the country’s equity market.
The index is designed to measure the performance of the 200 largest index-eligible stocks listed on the ASX by float-adjusted market capitalisation.
It is recognised as the institutional investable benchmark in the country.
