Alice Queen crowned gold system at Viani

Alice Queen (ASX:AQX) has identified its Viani Gold Project in Fiji to host a low sulphidation epithermal, ‘high-grade’ system extending over 5km in strike from geochemical sampling.

The company says the gold system remains open to the west-northwest and east-southeast and at depth, with assays returned from 10 additional trenches at the Tabua’s Camp prospect.

Trenches returned highlights including 4m @ 10.91 grams per tonne gold, including 1m @ 26.06g/t gold; 2m @ 13.69g/t gold, including 1m @ 26.83g/t gold; 3m @ 6.62g/t gold, including 1m @ 16.63g/t gold.

Two of the trenches are associated with brecciated, silicified quartz over 40m in outcrop, with additional trenches along strike showing continuity over 250m.

Managing Director Andrew Buxton says the results from trenching are an indication that low-cost surface work and trenching is valuable in identifying new ‘high-grade’ zones for future testing.

“These latest results line up perfectly with our previous high-grade drill results both in tenor and substance and they certainly make us believe that it is now just a matter of time before we can call Viani a genuine new gold discovery of significant potential scale,” Buxton says.

Alice Queen is a gold and copper explorer focused on developing its Australian and Fijian projects.
