Aguia Resources (ASX:AGR) launched its natural phosphate fertiliser Pampafos at Brazil’s largest agricultural fair, Expodireto, on 11 March 2026.
CEO Timothy Hosking says the official launch of its Pampafos product marks “another important milestone” for the company and provides confidence in near-term mining and processing.
“We are entering the market at the right time given the favorable pricing environment and the fact that Brazil has a critical shortage of domestically produced phosphate, and is heavily reliant on imports,” Hosking says.
“Aguia can mine and process a natural phosphate product and quickly establish a saleable operation, right in the heart of Brazil’s bread basket.
“This delivers a unique value proposition for investors and exposure to a commodity that is very attractively priced and has favorable long term demand characteristics.”
Expodireto is organised by Cotrijal Cooperativa Agropecuária e Industrial, one of Brazil’s largest agricultural cooperatives with more than 7,500 members across over 50 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul.
Aguia currently has numerous non-binding memorandum of understandings in place with multiple parties to supply the first product once ready. Operations are expected to begin in late April 2026.
These agreements will supply around 44,000 tonnes of product to major commercial farms and cooperatives in Brazil and Uruguay, which is expected to cover 70% of the company’s output in 2026.
The company has also appointed Muça El Hatal as a Sales and Commercial Manager, due to his experience of more than 20 years in fertiliser sales.
Aguia Resources is a multi-commodity explorer with phosphate assets in Brazil and gold assets in Colombia.
