Adavale Resources prepares for AC drilling campaign at Lake Surprise Uranium Project

Adavale Resources (ASX:ADD) reports that it has completed final environmental works in preparation for a planned aircore (AC) drilling campaign at its 100% owned Lake Surprise Uranium Project in South Australia. 

The planned AC drilling campaign, comprising between 50-150 drillholes, will commence with a goal of targeting shallow uranium mineralisation identified by surface soil and gamma surveys, which indicate that the highest values are at surface. 

Adavale’s submission of an Exploration Program of Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR) to the State Government’s Department of Energy and Mining (DEM) marked the end of all field work required to commence the planned drilling campaign.  

Lake Surpprise

Speaking on the program, Adavale’s Executive Director David Riekie commented: “Our team has been working diligently and in collaboration with the Dieri traditional owners and their consultants to secure the remaining exploration and government environmental approvals that will enable drilling to commence in October 2022.

The aircore drill program will take approximately 3 weeks and has been designed to focus on the shallow paleochannel zones prospective for uranium. Our target zones are at 30 metres depth, therefore the 80m x 180m grid spacing will result in a time and cost-efficient program. 

During the program the progressive gamma readings and portable XRF results will enable our geological team to interpret the preliminary results and commence planning for the next steps.”

The company also notes that it has been granted a new exploration licence (EL6821) located southwest of the Lake Surprise Uranium Project area and adds an increase of 714km-square to the total project area. 

The newly granted project area also demonstrates similarities in geology and geophysical anomalies to that of the Lake Surprise Uranium Project and compliments Adavale’s existing uranium prospects. 

In addition, Adavale’s drilling contractor is available and currently on standby for the commencement of the drilling campaign and rehab works, which are expected to commence in mid-October and take about three weeks to complete.

The Lake Surprise Uranium Project is located about 70km east of the township of Maree in South Australia and comprises four tenements for a total land holding of 1,078km-square, including a newly granted tenement which covers a land area of 714km-square. The project tenements covers an area that is prospective for uranium minerlisation hosted within a silcrete capped paleochannel in proximity to the states northern region of Flinders Ranges. 

With all of the required final environmental works now complete, Adavale announces that it hopes to commence drilling by October 2022.
